International Application Requirements
Required items include:
- A Student Application for Admission and a nonrefundable application fee.
- Official and/or embassy-certified transcripts and educational records including the following:
UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS- Applicants to the undergraduate program are normally required to have completed an educational program (including primary, secondary, and higher secondary education) that includes twelve years of academic study. This program must be completed prior to entry at the University and be equivalent to an American high school diploma.
FIRST-YEAR STUDENTS/FRESHMEN - Your secondary/high school transcript, including at least three years of completed academic work, and any external examination results.
An official final transcript with date of completion/graduation is required prior to enrollment at Webster.
TRANSFERS - Your transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended, including colleges and universities. Applicants with less than two years of transfer credit must also submit the documents required under the first-year students/freshman listing above.
Official final transcripts of any academic work in progress are required prior to entry at Webster.
GRADUATE STUDENTS - Your official transcripts from the regionally accredited college or university that awarded your American baccalaureate degree or its equivalent. This transcript must indicate the degree received and the date awarded. Students enrolled in graduate level programs also must submit official transcripts of that work.
Graduate applicants who apply and are accepted before completing the undergraduate degree must submit a final transcript indicating the degree received and the date awarded prior to enrollment at the University.
All official transcripts and diplomas must include all work attempted to date. They will be designated as Official Transcripts by the issuing institution. The issuing institution must send the transcript in a sealed envelope to the appropriate Admissions Office at Webster University. Official transcripts and diplomas will contain the issuing Registrar's signature and be embossed with the issuing school's seal.
Official transcripts and diplomas normally issued in a language other than English must be accompanied by a literal and officially certified English translation. Embassy-certified translations are normally accepted. However, Webster University may require applicants to use a specific translator or translation service.
- Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) scores.
Official TOEFL scores are required prior to admission if your native or predominant language is not English. Webster University's TOEFL requirements for admission are:
• 210 for undergraduate applicants
• 230 for graduate applicants
All applicants must submit an official TOEFL score at the time of application. Students who did not achieve the TOEFL scores indicated above may be considered for "conditional admission" to the University. Conditional admission requires accepted students to enroll in English as a Second Language (ESL) courses at Webster University. The University offers intermediate and/or advanced ESL courses at the following campuses: St. Louis, Geneva, Leiden, and Vienna.
Prospective applicants without official TOEFL test scores must contact the Webster campus to which they plan to apply to arrange an on-campus assessment of English language skills.
This assessment will include an essay, an oral interview, and an institutional TOEFL test.
Use the following institutional codes for Webster University when requesting official TOEFL score reports:
U.S.A. (all campuses): 6933
Geneva campus: 0546
Leiden campus: 0548
London campus: 0549

- A 300- to 400-word essay on a topic of your choice. You may describe a special interest, experience, or achievement.
- A list of your activities and achievements for undergraduate applicants or a curriculum vitae (resume) for graduate applicants.
- Two letters of recommendation from teachers and/or employers.
- SAT or ACT scores are required for first-year/freshman applicants who are graduates of U.S. high schools and international secondary schools that use English as the language of instruction. Contact the campus to which you plan to apply for specific information.
- Visa requirements can vary by campus location. The University will notify you if additional documentation is required.
Please make photocopies of all documents sent to Webster University. You may be required to present these to the consulate when you apply for your student visa.
